Do I need a boating licence for the training?

No. The skipper training is aimed at beginners and those returning to sailing – regardless of whether you already hold a licence or not. We start where you are.

What should I bring to the training?

Comfortable, weatherproof clothing, shoes with non-slip soles, sun protection, sunglasses and a good mood. Safety equipment such as life jackets is provided by us.

How long does a training session last?

There is no typical training duration. We always adapt to your needs and wishes. The minimum is always one hour; a duration of 3 hours is recommended.

Can I bring my own boat or charter yacht?

Accepted Answer

Yes, both are possible. We are happy to train on your own boat so you can get familiar with your own equipment straight away. Alternatively, we can organise a suitable charter yacht for you.

How many people can take part at the same time?

For maximum effectiveness and personal attention, we recommend groups of 1–4 people. For larger crews or families, just get in touch – we will find a solution.

Where exactly does the training take place?

Our training boat is based in Santa Ponsa on the south-west coast of Mallorca. However, training can also take place on your own yacht or charter yacht anywhere on the island.

What happens in bad weather?

Safety comes first. If conditions are unfavourable, we will reschedule the training at short notice.

What is the difference between skipper training and safety training?

Accepted Answer

Skipper training focuses on boat handling, manoeuvres, docking, anchoring and practical navigation. Safety training concentrates on emergency situations: life jackets, life rafts, distress signals and radio communication in an emergency.
